Internships
The main goal of the Sociology Internship is to provide work experience that complements the theory-based academic program which will help the student identify future career paths, improve career skills, and develop a network of career professionals and mentors.
The internship provides students with a supervised field experience in a social agency or organization. The student is responsible for securing placement prior to course enrollment. Credit can be earned only for work completed during the semester in which the student is enrolled in the course.

A Women's Place offers both residential and nonresidential services including 24/7 crisis line, safety planning, safe shelter, case management, individual and group counseling, legal advocacy, Seeking Safety coping skills program for adults and teens, child and teen advocacy, community education, professional training and domestic violence awareness activities. All services are free and confidential.

Sexual Assault Survivors, Inc.Make presentations about sexual assault, sexual harassment, and dating violence to local middle and high schools.
Sexual Assault Victim Advocate (SAVA) CenterAt SAVA, we believe that every survivor of sexual assault should have a safe place to talk. The Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Center is looking for dedicated advocates to provide support to survivors on our 24-hour crisis hotline. To ensure quality service to the clients we serve, all advocates must be 18 years of age, successfully complete an extensive and enriching training process, and be able to staff several evening and weekend shifts a month. Fluent Spanish speakers welcomed!
