According to the Colorado Department of Higher Education, Colorado’s largest and fastest-growing ethnic group, Hispanic/Latino, has the lowest average educational attainment and the lowest college enrollment rate of any ethnic group in the state.
On this page, Hispanic/latine-identifying student data is being compared to data from "White, non-Latino" identifying students. This comparison aims to highlight historical disparities in the retention and graduation rates of latine-identifying students at UNC and across the country. In UNC's case, these disparities, in part, can be attributed to the absence of data disaggregation, which prevented us from identifying and addressing historic gaps and resource deficiencies.

UNC Enrollment and Academic Achievement Data
UNC recently underwent an extensive, multi-year evaluation of enrollment and academic achievement data as part of the university’s Strategic Enrollment and Student Success plan.
The data showed that our students are not reaching their goal of attaining a college education in a timely manner, and it was clear that equity gaps exist between White, non-Latino and Hispanic/latine-identifying students.
