There are many ways to make a difference at the University of Northern Colorado. Every gift, regardless of size or type, helps create new opportunities for students, supports faculty excellence, and strengthens programs across campus.

You can give in the way that works best for you, whether that is a cash gift, recurring donation, transfer of stock or securities, or a planned gift that leaves a lasting legacy. Each option allows you to direct your support to the area of UNC that matters most to you, from scholarships and academic programs to athletics, the arts, and more.

Securities and Stocks

Donating appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds is an easy way to support the University of Northern Colorado. These giving vehicles may also provide you with significant tax benefits beyond the standard charitable deduction.

Planned and Deferred Gifts

You can give to any fund or program you wish to support. Donors to UNC can support whatever area of campus means the most to them.

Online: You may make a one-time or recurring gift through our online donation form. If your desired fund is not listed, please indicate that fund in the comment field of the donation form.

Mail: Please make out checks to the UNC Foundation and include your desired fund in the memo line of your check. Checks can be mailed to:

The UNC Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization. All gifts to the UNC Foundation are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. You should consult with your tax attorney/advisor concerning the deductibility of your gift.

Faculty and staff members can set up a monthly or one-time donation for any amount. To set up a monthly contribution or to change the amount you are currently donating through payroll deduction, please contact gifts@unco.edu. Most members of Team UNC give through Payroll Deduction. Payroll deductions are the easiest way to give, and you can provide significant support over the year by splitting it up between paychecks.

An endowment is a gift fund invested in perpetuity by the UNC Foundation. The income generated by the investment supports the fund you designate. A portion of the income is reinvested each year enabling the endowment to grow and provide a permanent stream of income over time. A new endowment can be established with a minimum gift of $25,000. An annual spendable scholarship can be established with a $5,000 donation that will award a $1,000 scholarship for five years. Gifts that fund scholarships make it possible for UNC to attract and retain the best undergraduate and graduate students, regardless of their financial circumstances. You can make a difference by contributing any amount to an existing scholarship or establishing a new scholarship endowment to benefit students enrolled in the college/school of your choice. The independent, nonprofit, UNC Foundation properly and efficiently stewards private gifts, provides flexibility and responsiveness, manages assets strategically, engages volunteers as informed advocates, and ensures the accuracy and confidentiality of donor records.

The University of Northern Colorado Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Board appoints an executive director to manage the Foundation’s staff and daily operations.
