Honorlock

Proctored online exams directly within UNC's Canvas Learning Management System. Students may be asked to complete a few verification steps before beginning their exam. These may include facial recognition, presenting a photo ID, and showing their surroundings via webcam.

Virtual proctoring essentials

Before taking your exam, download the Honorlock extension for Chrome. Honorlock offers a simple, single-click test to verify that all requirements are met.

On exam day, you’ll undergo a 60-second verification process, which includes showing your identification and completing a room scan. Recording will start at the beginning of this process, and you’ll begin your exam once verification is complete.

Additionally, it’s highly recommended to take the Practice Exam available in the Exams module on your ICON site. For troubleshooting tips, visit: Honorlock Best Practices for Test Takers.
