Choosing a College

What matters to you when choosing a college?  Get started with these seven tips to help you find the college you'll call home next year.

1. Make a list 
   What's most important to you?  Size, cost, distance from home?
2. Search the Internet for colleges based on your needs list
   Admissions departments are a great place to start.
3. Look for opportunities through your school
   Talk to your high school counselor about college visits.
4. Visit campus for an in-person tour
   Vsit UNC for a 60-minute campus tour with a campus ambassador
   
5. Look for other virtual tour opportunities
   Take a virtual daily tour or view other visit options at UNC.
6. Make an appointment with an Admissions Counselor
   Your admissions counselor can answer your questions about academic programs or what life is like at UNC.
7. Talk with current UNC students
   Hear it from a Bear from your same town or region.
