Trustees Approve Room, Building Names
April 10, 2019
The Gender and Sexuality Resource Center above will be named the Bonnie House in recognition of gifts by Bob and Bonnie Phelps.
Twenty rooms at the Campus Commons and the home of the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center have been named to honor a generous group of donors who support the University of Northern Colorado.
UNC trustees approved the naming recommendations at a special board meeting April 10.
The home of the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center, 2215 10th Ave., will now be
known as the Bonnie House in recognition of the contributions of Bob and Bonnie Phelps.
The new name will be made public at a dedication ceremony next fall to coincide with
the completion of a renovation to the garage. That project will transform the current
outdoor storage space into a conference meeting space for students.
The naming of the rooms in the Commons recognizes 20 donors whose combined gifts contributed
over $4.2 million to help fund UNC’s newest building. The list of names, and other
naming opportunities, is available here. Signage to acknowledge these namings is being installed this week in preparation
for the Presidential Investiture on Friday, April 12.
