Started as a school in 1968, it became a college in 1984. The college was renamed
in 1999 in honor of cattleman, longtime Colorado statesman and benefactor Kenneth
W. Monfort. Five years later, the college became the first business college to receive
the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation’s highest honor for quality
and performance excellence. Today, the award-winning college is accredited by AACSB
International, and its academic portfolio has grown to include the master’s of Accounting
and online MBA programs. The college is also home to the East Colorado Small Business
Development Center and UNC Bizhub Collaborative, an innovative business incubator.
“Over those 50 years, more than 12,000 students have graduated and gone on to be successful
in all kinds of business endeavors, here in Colorado and in other parts of the U.S.
as well as in variety of international locations,” said Paul M. Bobrowski, Ph.D.,
dean of the college.
